family. Tall and feral humans paired with a beast’s spirit, they were strong, fast, quick to anger and possessed impressive natural weaponry.
Physical characteristics
Furies were a shifter race, meaning that they had a half-human half-wolf appearance but could shift into a human guise where they tended to be taller, darker and hairier than the average person. They also tended to be leaner; a fat fury was a rarity and most were sleekly muscled. Their hybrid animal form was a tall man-wolf combination much like the classic ‘werewolf’ with grey, black or white fur though some reddish varieties were known among the barbarian clans of the Lehr Peaks.
In their half-wolf form, furies had prodigious regenerative capabilities, given to them by geneticists during the
Pulse War
to make them front line warriors... and they never looked back since.
Stereotype
They were called furies, and tended to live up to the name. In general, a fury was seen by humans as reckless and impulsive. Thought equalled action for them. They had little patience except when on the hunt. They had little fear of injury or death, so they attempted many things as a matter of course that would make a human think twice. Pain was not nearly as much of a deterrent to them as it was for most, since they knew they would heal from it.
Furies were not as driven by instinct as animals but it had far more sway over their lives than for humans. Once committed to an action, they rarely faltered from it or changed their minds. They had a boundless confidence in themselves that often spilt over to their companions.
