Logicians

Garden of Athena is a far future realm of Suzerain, part of the Catalyst family of realms.

Logicians were people with amazing logical and mathematical abilities. They had a perfect memory of everything their senses picked up and an equally perfect biological clock and awareness of time. In the Athenian society they were often used to store or process information, control identities of people or as Logician-navigators on the massive Crystal drive ships that allowed the Athenians to travel faster than light.

Perhaps as a result of their amazing abilities they suffered a severe lack of social skills, most notably a complete lack of humor an inability to lie outright.

Logicians were found on some barbarian gardens, but far from on all before the arrival of the Athenians.

Logicians were born seemingly at random, and no matter the nature of the parents the chances seemed to be the same. About one in 5000 children born on Athens was a Logician. On other gardens that did have them, the birth ration seemed to vary between 5000:1 and more than 20000:1.

Due to their valuable nature, Logicians were often acquired by the authorities or wealthy persons of whatever society they were born into. When the Athenians started conquering the barbarian gardens and found other Logicians they often captured these and used them for the less demanding tasks, convinced that they were somehow less capable than their Athenian counterparts, though no objective data supports this claim.
Women were equally likely to be born as a Logician but in the male-dominated Athenian society they were often treated as second-rate Logicians much as with the barbarians.

Logicians ruled the island of Thasos on Athens, where they constructed the best of all Logician training facilities, the Thasopolis Academy. It was also on Thasos that the Olympic Games were held.
