Panthran

Panthrans were a shifter race from Untamed Empires, a realm from the Elements family. Lithe and acrobatic, the blending of man with panther made a formidable racial combination, especially in the rigging of the huge warships sailing between the New World and Setward Isles, where they excelled.

Physical characteristics

Panthrans were a shifter race, meaning that they were largely human but could shift into a half-human half-panther appearance. They were largely human most of the time, perhaps with telltale shocks of fur or cats’ eyes, with somewhat better senses than normal humans. In hybrid form though they had exceptional senses, alertness, reactions, and a sixth sense for danger. Additionally, they had retractable claws, giving them a capacity for lethal attacks even when unarmed without losing the ability for fine manipulation like other clawed races.

Stereotype

Although many panthrans hailed from His Majesty's Empire, they found themselves unexplainably drawn to the Setward Isles. These feline-influenced humans tended to fall into two categories: the stiff-necked, perpetually bored observer or the mischievous-yet-lovable rogue. The standard for panthran beauty was dependent on litheness and grace, and they tended to be more agile than members of the other races. The charismatic rogue of a panthran sailor was the common stereotype in the docksides of the world’s ports, and a lot of panthrans loved to revel in the implicit reputation that went with that image.
