Shifter Race






     Shifter races were groups of people from the Elements family of realms who had a mix of human and animal DNA, the result of attempts to genetically enhance humans with animal attributes during the Pulse War. They had a non-human form that was part animal and part man, and a normal human form. One form was their native form - half animal in Relic, for instance, human in Untamed Empires - and they could shift to the other by burning a little of their Pulse which they regained when they rested. That's how they got their name. Furies were an example of a Relic shifter race, half man, half wolf. Panthrans were an example from Untamed Empires (half man, half panther), as were Drakes - (half man, half dragon if you listen to some).
